Fall treats!

I love my beloved candy corn snack, but now I'm loving adding peanuts.  I know there are so many other things I can add to this mix, but I'm a simple girl.  I like to stick to the yummy basics!

Oh dear, a deer!

I know this is an awful picture and you can barely see the deer in between the tree branches, but I was too slow!  We have so many deer right now.  I had to take this picture through the screen in the kitchen window.  If I go outside the deer will run away and usually the dogs will scare them.  I have counted at least 7 deer at a time sneaking into our yard, I'm assuming to eat the walnuts.  We have so many stinkin' walnuts it's insane.

Our kids get to see wildlife every single day.  They love watching the squirrels play and even chipmunks sometimes make an appearance.  We are loving and enjoying nature this fall!

Days off!

I really enjoyed spending the day with Gary yesterday!

He works or travels on Saturdays, so I get him all to myself while the kids are in school on Mondays.
Sometimes we golf.  Sometimes we shop.  Sometimes we do yard work, but it's nice to have had a day date yesterday.  We sat outside in the fall air at The Boathouse.  We shared a plate of nachos and had fun conversations about our kiddos!

I enjoy dating my husband, and I'm glad we still enjoy each other after all these years!

fall soccer is in full swing

Let the games begin!!!  Hayden was so thrilled for his first game today!

I love to watch him run and play.  I'm so glad to report that so far we have his asthma under control. Last spring he had a few issues, but he's ready to play and we have his rescue inhaler if we need it.

Go fight win!  I'm sure I'll post many more pictures of fall soccer!

goofing around in Lowe's

What?  You don't go to Lowe's and pose in the isles?  These two are my favorite!

real life

This is how these two munchkins looked this morning before school.  They were peppy and silly and ready for a great day.  It's a shame their clothes aren't a little brighter!

This is Layla walking home after school for the second time.  The first time she wasn't frowning.  She's frowning because she forgot her Science folder and had to go back to school to get it.  She wasn't happy about it and that is why her face looks grumpy.

After school can be tough around our house, how about yours?  There is no air conditioning in the school and the kids get so hot.   I understand why they can be a bit snippy after a hot day at school.

Hayden is sad because he fell at recess playing soccer and he had to tell me all about his injured knee.  He said he didn't cry when it happened.  He said it didn't hurt at the time, but it hurt when he got home.  Ahhhh!  Sweet boy.  Sometimes a hug from momma can make skint knees feel much better.  That and ice cream before homework...that always helps too!

I sure do love these kiddos, forgotten folders and skint up knees included.  I'm so happy I can be here at home for them when they need me after those hot school days.  I will never take my job as a mom for granted!

taco soup the second time

Gary has been out of town.  On his was back into town yesterday he sounded awful, so I decided to make a batch of taco soup.

I browned some turkey meat and added a taco packet.  I added tons of veggies, garlic, zucchini, onions, celery, carrots, a can of rotel, corn and black beans.  It let it simmer for over an hour and it was ready to go.  We added a scoop of Greek yogurt and a sprinkle of cheese and called it soup.

This morning we decided to drain some broth off the soup and add it to an omelet!

I added a bit of mild Taco Bell sauce and another dollop of yogurt.
Mmmmm Mmmm Good!

I just love food sooo much!

14 years ago on the beach at sunrise I married my best friend!

These are awful pictures of pictures, but I had to post them.

We look like babies.

I love our wedding scrap book.  I created it myself, long before I ever thought about keeping up with our family blog.

We made a fun trip of our wedding.  We had tons of fun!

Gosh I love this man!  He's definitely my soul mate!

Look....we even took a selfie, all the way back in 2000!

Happy Anniversary Gary Sipes!!

~picture day~

fourth grade

first grade

Today was picture day at school.  I don't buy the pictures because quite honestly every day is picture day in our household!  I love having this little ole blog to store all our memories.  I'm not really that much into picture frames sitting around our house.  I have a box of photos from my childhood and I wish I didn't have it. It's just so much to pack and move when the time comes.  I love modern technology and I think the kids do too!

fall soccer is here!

Hayden's first soccer practice went great tonight!  He's very excited about this new season!

He loves to run and dribble the ball.  I think he'll have a great season.

Layla and I sat and chatted and watched him play.  She's his biggest fan!

Gary and I played golf today as a pre-anniversary outing.  It was so fun and the scenery was gorgeous.

I played the best round of my life and it was so fun when I actually had a good game.  I took a picture of this hole because I was on the green in one swing.  I wish you could see my tiny pink ball over to the right of the picture!

I'm glad Gary and I have a fun hobby we can share.  He definitely loves it more than me, but a fun golf game is good for me every now and then.

rowdy wagon rides are the best

You're never too old for a good old fashined wagon ride, especially when daddy is wild and wreckless.  These boys make me a nervous wreck half the time!

spray spray spray

Mosquitos be gone!!!  We have had a time with mosquitos lately.  We are constantly spraying ourselves and trying new mosquito fighting remedies.  I love our citronella candles and they work!s
