Friday Night Lights!

Last night we took the kids to their first Baylor football game!  McLane stadium was so awesome!  We all had a wonderful time even though we were tired from a week of school activities.  

The band was fun to watch before the game started.

We are on winter break, but our friends here in town are not.  We decided to go do some sight seeing while our buddies were doing real life work and school.

Hayden and Gary wanted to see McLane Stadium, home of the Baylor Bears!!!!!

Wow it is gorgeous!  I was in love!

We tried so hard to get a good picture of us in front of the Bears sign, but gosh the sun was bright.  I'm NOT mad about that bright sun, but dang the kiddos forgot shades.  Both of them were sun glass free. I was a mean momma and didn't feel bad for them.  I told them to pack shades!  Gary was trying to see the screen so he put his on his head.  This picture will make me giggle forever!!

We also have one happy girl too.  She is obsessed with the show Fixer Upper.

She found and purchased a cute goat shirt and was happy as can be.  Honestly, I was a little disappointed.  The market is just full of home decor.  Don't get me wrong, I love to decorate my house, but I would have loved to see some other fun stuff in there.  I'm not sure what I was expecting, so I don't know why I was disappointed.

The outdoor area was fun and the weather was amazing.  There was a live band and there were 7-8 food trucks lining the property.  There was a cute little garden area and as you can see there is a grassy area where kids were playing ball and enjoying the sunshine!  We were there during the week a little before lunch time and the parking was awful.  I don't think I'd be brave enough to visit on a weekend.  Goodness, it's a popular place!

Our buddies live about 7 miles from McGregor, so we drove by the Magnolia house bed and breakfast.  Layla loved it, but really wanted to go inside for a tour.  She was begging to go inside, but that just wasn't possible.  Maybe someday soon we can go visit and stay there for a night!

We love Saturday's because of college football!  We always try to think of fun football foods and snacks.

We love our silly selfie stick.  The kids get all irritated with me begging them to get ready for a photo.  Times have changed though, from the days of setting up my Canon camera timer.  Now we have the selfie stick.  What will be the next fun way to snag family photos?

These two kiddos have so much fun together, but then they fight together.  Fall break is over on Monday and back to school they go!  Golly gee, the break went fast.  

I'm ready to get back into the school routine!  Fall is upon us and it's a wonderful time of the year!

Tonight was the first Baylor football game!

We had a fun night snacking and staying up past our bedtimes to watch the season opener!

We served all the gold and green food we would find as we watched the Bears win!

Biggest Baylor fans

We are loving supporting the Bears even though we are here in Ohio.  Gary has always been a Baylor fan, of course I'm a fan cause of him and so on and so forth.  It's a fun team to support win or lose and we have been fans through it all.

I can't wait to go back to Waco someday and see the new stadium.  I'm sure the campus is very very different from when Gary and I lived there.  Hayden says he's gonna be a Bear someday!  I hope so!

Football weekends are so fun with friends and family. Sic'em!

College football fun!

When I was a little girl I was a huge Texas Longhorn fan.  I wanted to go to The University of Texas at Austin my whole life.  I don't even really know why, but I was a little girl and thought that was the school for me.   

My daddy is a Texas Tech fan and I knew I'd never move that far away from my family. Ha!  I never considered Baylor because it was so expensive and Waco was too close to home.  Oh the thoughts of a teenager.  

All that to say:  I met Gary while he was attending Baylor and I became a Baylor fan to support him.  So, since approximately 1997 when Gary and I started dating I transformed into a Baylor Bear fan.  It took years and lots of rivalry, but since I never attended UT it wasn't ingrained in me to stick with loving that team.

The kids are now Baylor fans obviously because we are.  Hayden thinks it's pretty cool that his daddy was on the Baylor football team, even if it was for a short time.  This year Baylor football is having an amazing year and it is so fun to watch the games with our buddies here in Ohio.

Every week when the rankings are posted we all look forward to seeing how our teams are doing.  We have some really great friends who cheer for Ohio State.  We also have some friends who cheer for the West Virginia Mountaineers.  It has been a fun football season to say the least. 

We're all looking forward to the weeks to come!!
