footed pj's and a fun visit

Last weekend we took a quick trip to visit some of our best friends!
We always have fun when we visit our buddies Mark and Jeannie, and their kids Alex and Audrey.

When it was bedtime all four kids picked out footed pj's.  This momma loves footed pj's!!  I drove the kids bonkers running around the house like the 'mammarazi' trying to get a good picture of them!

How sweet are these four?

Smiling for the camera while eating dinner.  As you can see Hayden is pouting.
Have I mentioned that mealtime is hard for us lately?

He is a little stink pot when it comes to eating. We are working on it!

Hayden did love Alex's Buzz Lightyear toy.  He slept with it and
laid it beside the chair when he ate.  Ahem...Santa...

After dinner the kids played games with Gary. And Hayden held Buzz.

Sweet girls.  They had so much fun together.  It was very different this time...usually Layla and Alex play together and Audrey and Hayden play together.  This time the girls teamed up to play dress up, and Alex was very good to play and explain all his toys to Hayden.

Here they are before dinner...playing dress-up!
Inside their purses are puppies. Not real ones, but you know.

Gary's comment to them dressing up in such silly dresses was "Run along girls...go cover up!!"
Jeannie and I laughed at him, bless his heart, he doesn't want these girls to grow up.

We were also discussing how when we used to get together one of the kids was getting fed baby food, or a bottle. Awww...no more baby food for these two families.  The kids are great buddies...all four growing up way too fast.

Every time our families are together, either at our house or their house, I always try to get a picture of the daddies and kids while they are reading the bedtime story.  I love this time...so sweet :)  This time Alex read the story!  Sniff Sniff...they ARE growing up.

Thanks for the fun visit you guys...we love y'all!

8, 9, 10

The 8 of us had fun going from '09 -'10!
The kids played Bendaroos, Wii, had a few sword fights, sang songs and played dress-up.
The kiddos didn't make it very long, and were tucked snug into bed so the adults could...

Play Wii, have a yummy fondue dinner, play more Wii, and then ring in '10 with a champagne toast and chocolate fondue w/fruit for a mid-night snack.

A cousin to be proud of

Thanks for the well wishes you guys!
Having a cold is no fun, but I hope to kick it soon.
The above photo is awesome for many reasons.
1. Jeannie, my bff & the hostess, is pictured placing Blue Crab Nachos onto a serving dish.
Holy moly those little nachos are the best appetizer on the planet. If you want the recipe, just click on the words Blue.Crab.Nachos above. You WILL thank me!
2. Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation is in the photo.
You can see him in the white sweater with the black dickie. Look closely. Gary and I were laughing so hard at him. He was even wearing white shoes. I love that he wore the Eddie get-up. Hysterical. And brave. I wonder what people that HAVEN'T seen Christmas Vacation thought. First of all too bad for them....CV is only the BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER!!! I bet they thought his sense of style were lacking. I mean white shoes in winter.
Gary and I thought it was priceless and even wished we had thought of it ourselves.
Another party guy showed up in his mother-in-laws old Christmas sweater. It was complete with the moth ball smell. Next year I am so planning on hosting an 'Ugly Christmas Sweater' party.
So, if you can get your husbands to do it, Eddie at the Christmas party this year would be AWESOME!!!
Gary and I had so much fun having an adult night out on Saturday night!
Thank you Susan for hanging out with the kiddos.
We appreciate it more than you know.

Yep, we had a great time when the Miller's came for a visit. The kids had a blast running and playing until bedtime. After all was quiet, the adults had some dinner and played games. Oh yes, Jeannie & I did finally put the whoop on Mark and Gary at a fun game of "42"!!! Yippee for the ladies...we rock!
