Sea Life

Today was Hayden's last day of pre-school.

The whole school went on a field trip to SeaLife in the Grapevine Mills mall.

It was so fun!
I took these pictures with my iPhone because we couldn't use a flash inside the aquarium.  Some of the pictures are blurry, but you get the idea!

Isn't this octopus the coolest thing ever??

The sting rays glided around so peacefully.  I could watch them for hours.  They are so pretty!

Daddy went with us!

I love the jelly fish and the way the lights made them appear to change colors.

This starfish was a hit!

We had a fun day and I am so excited to know we have a super fun aquarium to visit in the future.  Hayden was begging to go to LegoLand.  It is located in the mall also, so we will plan on doing that this summer.

Field Day

Today was field day at Layla's school.

The weather was warm and breezy.  I think it was perfect weather for outdoor fun.

The day started with a parade around the school.

There were tons of activities for the kids to participate in!

Hayden and I were cheering Layla on!  Hayden was bored until we let him play with one of his monster trucks.  He had the best time playing in the dirt!

Daddy even came along to watch!

Layla is wearing florecent yellow shorts.  She was easy to find in the crowd of kids.

The potato sack race and tug-o-war were my favorite activities!

There was water balloon fun too.  Layla is running with one.  Can you see it?

Mrs. Aslin probably got teacher of the year after this activity!
The kids were super hot, so she sprayed them with the water hose.  The kids were cheering and screaming with joy!  So fun!

The girls won the first round of tug-o-war.  I'm glad I got a picture of the celebration.  They beat the boys!!  We were all screaming and cheering.  It was so awesome because they beat them last year too.   Girl Power!

Field day is so fun and I just love seeing the kids all together and working as a team.  A few time during the day I got tears in my eyes.  I can't believe these kids are growing up so fast.  Layla has the best buddies and I am so thankful for her school, friends and teachers!

Delicious sweet dip

I finally gave into all the hype and made Funfetti dip!  I have heard so much about it and now I know why!  It is a delicious treat.  You know me...when I discover something great I have to share it!

I followed this recipe because it seemed the easiest and it made what seemed to be a single serving.  Hayden and I shared it and it was the perfect amount for us.

Here is what I used:

3 tablespoons of Funfetti cake mix

2 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt.

1 tablespoon of Lite (Kroger brand) whipped cream.

This is what I did:

I put the yogurt and whipped cream into a bowl and then topped it with the cake mix and stirred it all up.  It is that easy!

Layla usually has an apple every day after school.  Sometimes she will eat it with a scoop of peanut butter and other days she will dip it in caramel.  She isn't home from school yet today, but I just know she will love dipping her apple into this new creation!

last day 2012

My sweet boy had his last day of preschool today.

They had a fun lunch of hot dogs and ice cream.

1st day September 7, 2011

I am so proud of Hayden and how much he has learned this year.  Next year this little man will be in Pre-K.  Time flies when you are having fun!

a few lines from a book I'm reading

I am reading the cutest book!  I just love it.  It's called Saving CeeCee Honeycutt.

Oh I love this!!

My favorite sentence in the book is this one above!  LOVE!!  I know that everything is already written in my life book.  This is such a great reminder.

The book is a feel good book and reminds me of The Help.  I am not finished yet and I can't wait to see what happens.  I am so thankful for our local library because I am reading this e-book for free right now!

What are you reading?
