patio bevvies and snacks

These quarantine days have me craving things I can't get due to restaurants being closed.

One of my favorite drinks outside on the porch is a frozen rose drink.

I decided to make it myself.

I froze rose wine in a 11x13 clear dish for 6 hours.  I put it in the blender and it was slushy, so I added frozen strawberries and blended them up.  I added a tiny bit of sugar and a small pour of peach Schnapps.

I made up some appetizers an headed to the back porch to sip and snack quarantine style.

Gary grilled some sausage and I made potato salad and we continued the snacking all night long.

I'll be excited when I can go out to eat again, but I also have fun creating fun food and drinks here at home.

golf lover

We see him climbing the fence and leaving the gate open to chase after stray golf balls.

We see him every single morning sporting a 'polo' shirt, because that is what golfers wear.

We see him hitting the snot out of the ball as it launches up high in the sky.

We see his smile when his golf coach tells him how awesome he is doing.

We see the want to learn in his eyes and we are proud of his hard work!!!!

sausage and sunsets

We are loving our outdoor space in our new house.  I'm loving all the things we've done to make it fun and cozy.  I especially love stepping down the back starts and taking pictures of the sunset.  I'm obsessed and it makes me so happy!  I get to see this every night!!!

Tonight we ate outside.  Gary grilled sausage.  I steamed broccoli and I made baked potatoes in the instant pot.  It was one of my favorite meals.  I just love sausage.  I wish it was more healthy, but I really don't even care.  It's a wonderful treat and one of our go-to meal ideas.

My favorite holiday

I just love Thanksgiving.

Lily does too.
he pups are waiting for Gary to drop something while carving the turkey.
Look at her tongue sticking out.

I'm super thankful for our new home this year. We are loving it and we are happy to have invited family to join us in our turkey day feast!

Look at the adorable bottles my momma made me for decor.  I'm going to keep them around all year long, I just love them!

I love food!

I'm so excited we are sitting on our deck. Gary and his awesome buddies build us a deck and we are loving it.  We plan to finish staining it in a few months, but for now it is a wonderful addition to our backyard.  The pups are loving laying on it and sunbathing.

We are blessed and so thankful!

Sunday afternoon shenanigans

I asked Hayden to get the wagon from the garage to pick up sticks in the front yard.

Then the wagon looked so fun.  Lily couldn't handle herself.  She was barking and chasing the wagon as the kids took turns pulling each other and Daisy.  Poor Daisy.  She was mad to be in the wagon.  She's such a good sport!

There is never a dull moment in our house.

Goodness gracious these 4 are silly silly munchkins!

storage bin or play bin?

My parents gave me this cool little patio storage thingy for my birthday!

It pretty much matches all our patio furniture, and it's just the right size for crazy kiddos.

and dogs too!

hahahahahahahahaha!

Look, Layla and Daisy have the same facial expression. :-)

it's the simple things

Sometimes a water hose and some baby shampoo is all you need for an afternoon of fun.  Well and the slip n slide too.

All this slip n slide fun had me camera happy, so out of the bag came my "big" camera.  100 or more pictures later here we go....I just can't help it!  I only added a few to spare you the over posting of pictures. ;)

Yesterday reminded me of when the kids were littler and we lived in Haslet.  The backyard fun we had there was so simple and fun.

The kids are easily entertained and of course they make it look so fun that Gary has to join in.  I'm pretty sure Lily wanted to slide too, but she didn't want to get her new collar wet!

The kiddos are on summer break countdown.  They have 8 days from today and they'll be out for SUMMAA!!!!

sloppy joes and sparklers

Gary worked late tonight so we stayed in and I made sloppy joes.  I've never put cheese on my sloppy joe, but I did tonight and it was a.maz.ing!  We had BBQ chips with our sandwiches and they were good too.  I had forgotten how yummy they are.

I really love our outdoor area.  I can't wait to buy a home to live in 'forever.'  I want to make the backyard all our own.  Our family is constantly outside and so the house can be cool, but the backyard must be off the chain awesome!

After our dinner we decided to play with sparklers.  It was a fun low key night, but it's those nights I love the most.  This little sock footed lady remembers getting burned by a sparkler once, so she was super cautious with her footing and where the fire fell!

We love weekends!!

what in the world?

This hilarious picture popped up in my timehop feed this morning.

I'm not quite sure what is going on, but it looks like a yard sale of sorts.  Oh how I love this silly family of mine and I love my addiction to my camera!

bluebonnets and a salmon burger

We took a little drive after breakfast this morning and saw a patch of bluebonnets.

I can't believe it is April.  April in Texas is just amazing.  The fresh spring smells and the slight breeze.  It's a real treat to have moved back to Waco just as spring has sprung.

Can that sky be any more blue?  It's gorgeous.  Hayden is throwing some sort of gang sign I'm sure. hahaha.  We took the top off the Jeep and we took a nice drive through town.

When we got home we sat in the backyard all afternoon.  Lily and Daisy are so happy in our backyard.  They love the grass and Layla laid down a blanket and they all snuggled up together on that too.  Lily is just as long as Layla. :-)

The kids begged to play on the trampoline in the sprinkler.  I thought is was a bit cold, but they didn't care.  They had a blast!!

I found two more blooms in the backyard today.  I promised I'd share them and I will!  I'm beyond thrilled to have ROSES!

I found these cranberry Gorgonzola salmon burgers at HEB and I knew I'd love them.  It was a great treat.  I'm a huge cheeseburger fan and it was hard for me to try something new, but I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something new.  HEB is my best friend with all their fun foods.  I'm so happy about shopping there again!

Yum yum!

Gary is a great chef as usual and I'm thankful for a fun Sunday in the sun with my little family!  Here's to many more here in the Lone Star State!

Snowy Saturday

The kids just came inside after playing in the snow!  It snowed the whole time they were outside playing.  They loved it! Lily had fun running and playing with them.  Daisy and I stayed inside the warm house.  The wind was blowing so hard and it made the kids colder faster!!

Happy Snow Day!
