storage bin or play bin?

My parents gave me this cool little patio storage thingy for my birthday!

It pretty much matches all our patio furniture, and it's just the right size for crazy kiddos.

and dogs too!

hahahahahahahahaha!

Look, Layla and Daisy have the same facial expression. :-)

Sunday was a funday indeed

We had a fun fall Sunday.  We had a fire to end the day and Hayden decided to protect his head with his motorcycle helmet.  His feet, legs and arms are all bare, but the face is all good. LOL!

Silly silly boy!

We went to the park and the kids took a pretty deflated soccer ball to kick around.  They ended up playing volley ball and Layla screamed out, "pass interference!!"  Oh me oh my, the children are funny today huh?!?

We ran off some much needed energy!

I'm going backwards in picture order.  We had cheeseburgers for lunch.  We took a drive and were hoping to find a hidden gem of a burger spot on the back roads of Georgia, but we struck out.  We ended up downtown for a late lunch/early dinner.  We tried a cheeseburger place we have been curious about since we moved here.

Let me start by saying the food was great.  The fries were crispy and the burger was very delicious.

I was annoyed by the cleanliness of the restaurant though.  The bathroom was a wreck and we had to ask for toilet paper and the teenager we asked was just rude.  I told her bathroom didn't have toilet paper and she said, "ok!"  She kept on doing whatever she was doing.  She wasn't concerned about TP at all.  When we went to order our food., the boy behind the counter was not helpful at all and it was our first time to eat there.  He wasn't in the mood to answer questions about the menu and in his defence it is a cheeseburger, how do you mess that up?  BUT come on, have some personality.  Anyway, the tables were all dirty and Gary and I were just plain ole disappointed.  We had higher expectations ya know. We just need to open a restaurant!  We'd love it!

After we ate our burgers on the patio we headed to the cupcake shop a few shops down the street.  They were out of cupcakes.  LOL!  We pretty much struck out downtown today, but it's all good.  We still had a fun time.

After sleeping in we started off our day with coffee by our first fire.  We decided to light a fire to warm up because we had a frost warning.  IT was chilly indeed and we loved it.  As you can see below, Daisy loved it too.  She's such a little ham-bone, posing like a movie start princess puppy!

I'm thankful for a fun Sunday with all my people and furry animals.  I don't take a second of life for granted.  I am thankful and I know I am truly blessed!

Can you get your feet off the table please?

selfie stick fun

Layla got a selfie stick today and we're having so much fun with it.  I think I caught Gary mid-french fry, chewing!  We had a cheeseburger dinner at one of our favorite places and I thought we should selfie it!

We are loving having the Jeep top and doors off.  We could never cruise around Texas in a Jeep in August.  Georgia has a wonderful climate.  I get hot, but NOTHING like Texas heat.  I'm loving this state!

After dinner we decided to bust out the 'props' that came with the selfie stick.  There are tons of hats and lips and glasses to play with.  I love Layla's new toy!

We had a fun weekend of  normalcy.  We have been so busy and the whole month of July felt like a whirlwind.  I still can't believe school starts Monday.  Yes, August 3rd!  It's crazy early, but we get a fall break, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, a winter break and also spring break.  I think starting early is ok after knowing we can enjoy a few extra weeks off here and there!

then and now

THEN

Remember when the kiddos would sit down for a picture?
(see Layla posing with BeBe)

Orrrrr better they they'd look at me with a blank stare wondering why I'm putting the iphone in their face again?!?
(see blank stare across Hayden's face above)

And do they ever end up looking at the camera?  They always look away right when the flash pops.

Annnddddd.....NOW....

This is what I get when I ask for a picture before school.  It's like a cool cometition.  Why they stick their booties out I'll never know?  And the peace signs and wide open mouths.

So, to all you moms out there hoping for a good shot.  You can bribe them for awhile, it worked for me for a couple years. BUT then they turn on the cool and this is what you have to look forward to!  Oh my!

yank out that tooth

Hayden's top left front tooth has been loose for what seems like forever.  Gary and Hayden devised a plan to get that booger out.  They used dental floss and tied it around the tooth.  They tied the other end of the floss to a remote control monster truck.  Then Hayden hit the go button.

Sadly nothing happened.  The tooth hasn't come out, but I'm sure they will try again and again.

Boys will be boys.

toothpaste twist

I have no words for the shape of this toothpaste.

I saw this laying on the kids bathroom counter.  This is Layla's toothpaste tube and it's really interesting.  I don't think I've seen this approach to squeezing toothpaste, but I guess whatever works huh?!?

Intense coloring

I was cooking dinner and looked in the dining room and this was going on. I guess he found it necessary to climb onto the table to ensure his coloring was perfect!

new glasses

Hayden and I met my aunt today for lunch.  It was so good to see her because he haven't seen her in forever!  We had salads at Zoe's Kitchen and then did a little shopping.  Claire's is right next door so we decided to go in and look around.

We found these funny glasses and they are just so goofy.  We love them!

The kids have had so much fun playing with them this afternoon. Hayden changes clothes 400 times a day, so the glasses give him a nice option for another look! ;)

I was trying on all the fun specs too.  Claire's is such a fun store.  I seriously could spend all day in there looking at all the fun jewelry   They also have cute accessories   I had no clue they have leg warmers.  Layla and I need to visit Claire's again soon!

Jump! Jump!

I don't know what it is, but I love jumping pictures.

I love action shots and the silly looks on the kids faces when they are jumping.

My kids are wearing mix matched clothes and running around the backyard like banshees!

We are having some good times laughing and being silly.  Who cares what we are wearing right?!

I'm hoping to take some fun pictures this weekend at Hayden's birthday celebration.
We are going to see Monster Jam LIVE!!!

Happy Friday.  Have a great weekend!
Oh & take some jumping pictures...it's FUN!

just a summer day

Today was a fun day of Yosicles, splashing in the backyard pool and silly hair-dos.

Layla giggled every single time she would fix her wet hair a different way.

We had a fun day in the backyard and now we are hot and tired. I'm thinking tonight will be a nice relaxing movie night!  I love the simple days of just playing and never leaving the house.

saturday sillyness

It seems like our weekends are booking up like crazy these days.  Luckily this weekend we didn't have anything planned.  Today was a great day of hanging out around the house and cleaning.

We decided to splurge and have lunch at our favorite Mexican food restaurant for lunch. I have been craving Mexican food for weeks!  It was well worth the wait. We loved acting silly at the table, the kids took a picture of us. I look so goofy and poor Gary, he is dying from bad allergies.  Bless his heart.

Once we got home we ended up cleaning like maniacs.  We did some deep cleaning chores we have been needing to do for awhile.  It was nice to get them done, but now we are exhausted.  Gary and I are watching the Nascar race while the kids are having a sleepover in the playroom.
They are 'camping out.'

Oh how I love these two...they are so silly and I love seeing them together lately.  They still have their petty fights, but usually they play together for hours!

I hope you had a great Saturday!

Best 2 dollars I ever spent

This is a blog post for the memory book for sure.

Oh my goodness, if I had know how much fun these silly vampire teeth were...I'd have bought them a long time ago.

After Layla and Hayden saw one of their little friends picture on Facebook they were very curious about these silly teeth.  I needed to pick up a few things from Wal Mart, so I grabbed a package.  The package came with several colors: green, white, purple, and orange.  A color for every mood, and several of each, so there wasn't much fighting over who gets what color. And as the title of the post says...it really was the best $2.00 I have spent in a long time!

It took Hayden awhile to figure out how to get them in his mouth.  He is checking Layla out...

Now he gets it and has on the crazy glasses we got from Sonic a few weeks ago.  He looks like he is from outer space!!

Layla ran around all weekend trying to make scary faces.  I laughed so much my abs are sore.

Hayden is fist pumping how awesome he looks with green teeth.

And they tried to get the dogs to wear them too.

Oh my...

Poor Harley, she finally just laid down and wore them on her nose.  She is such a good sport.

Callaway wanted no part of the silly~ness.

Scary face!!
