tug of war and other fun games too

Third grade field day was a success!

I arrived just in time to see tug-of -war.  I was so worried about Hayden's knee, but he did great and didn't seem to let it slow him down.

I am thankful for a group of friends that encourage Hayden and help him be a better boy.  I have heard tons of 3 grade stories and I'm so thankful for his buddies.

My goodness Hayden's skin looks so unblemished in this picture.  His eczema is looking so much better and I'm so thankful!

first grade field day

Hayden's field day was bright and early this morning.  Gary and I went to school to hang out for a bit.

Hayden loved his sno-cone and he loved running and playing even more.  He is so competitive!

My favorite game was this one above....

The kids had to fill a bucket with water with a cup that has holes in the bottom.  It's so funny to watch them giggle and laugh as they try to strategically fill the bucket!  They love getting soaking wet!

What a fun way to start the week.
Only 12 more days of school and then summer is here!!  WooHoo!

tea, field day and a sandy beach

This morning Hayden's first grade class honored us mommas with a tea party.

The snacks were delicious and the kiddos even sang songs to us moms.
It was a wonderful way to start the Mother's Day weekend!

Fourth grade had their field day today also.

I pretty much hung out at the school all morning long.

The kiddos had sno-cones and then finished up their field day activities.

After school we decided to meet up with our buddies at a nearby sandy beach.

We played in the water and dug in the sand.  I was so happy to sit in my chair and soak up some sun rays!

It was a fun filled day and we will all sleep very well tonight!

Field Day

Today was field day at Layla's school.

The weather was warm and breezy.  I think it was perfect weather for outdoor fun.

The day started with a parade around the school.

There were tons of activities for the kids to participate in!

Hayden and I were cheering Layla on!  Hayden was bored until we let him play with one of his monster trucks.  He had the best time playing in the dirt!

Daddy even came along to watch!

Layla is wearing florecent yellow shorts.  She was easy to find in the crowd of kids.

The potato sack race and tug-o-war were my favorite activities!

There was water balloon fun too.  Layla is running with one.  Can you see it?

Mrs. Aslin probably got teacher of the year after this activity!
The kids were super hot, so she sprayed them with the water hose.  The kids were cheering and screaming with joy!  So fun!

The girls won the first round of tug-o-war.  I'm glad I got a picture of the celebration.  They beat the boys!!  We were all screaming and cheering.  It was so awesome because they beat them last year too.   Girl Power!

Field day is so fun and I just love seeing the kids all together and working as a team.  A few time during the day I got tears in my eyes.  I can't believe these kids are growing up so fast.  Layla has the best buddies and I am so thankful for her school, friends and teachers!

Fort Worth Butterfly Garden

Today we had the best time with Hayden's preschool friends at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.  The coolest part was visiting the Butterfly Garden.  This post has some serious picture overload!!!

I love the flowers!  They are arranged in the shape of a butterfly!  If you are in the Fort Worth area you must visit the Botanic Garden.  It is beautiful this time of year.  I couldn't put my camera down!

I know shocker right?!?

Hayden had a rough day yesterday.  I am so thankful for new days.  We have had so much fun today!!

Once we were inside the butterfly garden the butterflies were free.   They flew all around us and even landed on us.  This picture is priceless!!

Hayden really wanted a butterfly to land on him, but it didn't happen.

Sadly I couldn't take many pictures with my Canon camera.  It was so very humid and the lenses fogged up so bad.  I was sad, but thankful for my iPhone.  All the pictures of butterflies were taken with my phone.  I was shocked by the quality of them!

There were the most interesting plants on display.

It was fun to sit on the lawn while eating our picnic lunch.  I enjoyed talking with the other moms.

After lunch the kids ran and played baseball.  It was a great day.  I am so thankful for all the cute buddies Hayden has made at preschool.
