Our October weekend

I am sad to say these are the only pictures I took of the airshow this weekend because it was cancelled on  Sunday.  :(  Every year we go to the airshow near our house on Sunday.  Apparently last night we had thunderstorms and they drenched the area. The parking lots were all closed due to the mud.  I didn't hear a single storm and neither did Gary.  Oh well, we are ALL very sad.   Hayden and Layla were so excited to see all the fun planes up close.  I was excited to be able to take some fun pictures.

well, there is always next year.

So ... as it turned out the only pictures I got were taken in our backyard on Friday during their practice run!  Hayden was so excited to wear his ear protectors this year.  He wore them Friday and I guess we can save them for next year!

I think he needs to adjust them a tad.  They seem to be protecting his cheeks!  He insists on doing everything himself.  He is Mr. Independent.  Oh how I love this silly little man.

Layla's first soccer season is coming to a close.  She has two more games.  While I am excited to have our weekends back I am sad to see the season end.  I really think she has LOVED playing soccer.  She even mentioned she wants to play in the springtime.

Saturday night we had a fun night with Gary's sister and our neighbors.  We watched the Rangers play in the World Series on TV and Gary grilled homemade burgers.  Sometimes a homemade burger just hits the spot!   I'm glad the food was good because the game was terrible.  Sadly, our Rangers choked, but there is tonight!  Tonight is game #4!!

My sweet girl!  I just love her.  She has been working on losing her second tooth and she is trying to get rid of these training wheels.  She needs to slow down.  I can't have her growing up so fast.  BUT I have to say each phase is more fun.  I just love Layla's heart and what a sweet girl she is growing into.

Sunday afternoon turned into nap time for the entire family.  Sadly the dogs are the only ones to actually get a good nap.  The kids didn't sleep a wink, why do they fight sleep so bad?   I slept about 3 minutes and Gary slept about 4 whole minutes.  It is safe to say we are ordering up an early bedtime!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Air Show 2010

Sunday before all the Trick or Treat action began...we went to the Alliance Air Show.

The kids are always excited about the air show because they see the planes flying all around the city a week or so before the show.  Seeing them everyday practicing makes it even more fun to be there!

Layla and Hayden were so excited to see the airplanes up close.

And we met some friends at the air show.  So it was triple the fun.  It was a fun day with lots of laughs!

Here Layla, Rilan, Ava and Hayden are playing 'ring around the propeller.  ha!  The kids had fun together I think.  They are all sweet kids :)

Sweet Ava and Layla

The Blue Angels are so awesome!  Their performance will take your breath away!

So cool!  They gave me chills!

Ava and her mommy and daddy.

Me, Ashley and Britni

The kids were chilling out. Taking a break from the action.  It was hot all 5 kiddos had red cheeks.

It was fun to hang out with twitter/blog friends and their families.  I have met Ashley and Britni before, but hanging with the kids a dads...it was fun!

Thanks for meeting us at the AirShow y'all...lets go back next year for sure :)

Our fun week

This week has been so fun!  We have been busy with Fall & Halloween activities every day.  I know I have worn you guys out with posts about our activities.  Every single day has been another post about pumpkins!  That is one reason I blog though...it is our online scrapbook!

I had jello ready one afternoon for Layla when she got out of school.  We were going to do jello jigglers in fall shapes, like Kelli did.

It was a huge fail, but we still ate the jello!  We still had a festive orange after school snack.  I don't know what happened...for some reason the jello just wouldn't hold the shapes.

I made a pumpkin sheet cake.  I will post the recipe soon.  It would be a perfect cake for Thanksgiving Day.  Maybe even in the shape of a turkey.  IT is so delicious.

The kids painted pumpkins.

Hayden asked for yellow paint.  He insisted on a yellow pumpkin.

They both did really good with the paints.  At the end though, they started fighting over colors.

But fun memories were made :)

This coming weekend is going to be so fun!  We have so many fun things to look forward to.

We have been watching the practice runs all week for the local airshow.

Here are a few pictures I took.  They fly RIGHT over our homes.

It is really loud, especially at nap time.  But it's amazing.  We get so excited about it and we all love it!

We will trick or treat a little on Sunday night, and we are also attending a Carnival on Saturday.
IT will be a super fun weekend!  I hope you all have a safe and fun weekend too!

Fly like an eagle

This past weekend an airport near our home hosted their annual Airshow.

When I say near our home I should have said on top of our home.
On Friday the airplanes were practicing and I didn't know it until they were right on top of us. They scared the kids and I to death!!
The Blue Angels are so loud!!
I grabbed my camera but didn't get any good shots worth posting.
On Sunday we loaded up a picnic and sat in the car and watched the show. It was so fun. Last year we actually went to the show, but I didn't want to damage any ones ears. It was best for us to just chill and watch from afar. Gary captured all the pics I posted. He was pretty much our photographer this past weekend. Thanks G-dawg :)

This jet was so fast and so cool and super LOUD! We saw it break the sound barrier. The waves were fluttering as the plane flew over.
I know...sounds weird, and hard to explain.
Anyway, it was fun and the kids had a great time. Hayden has been pointing into the sky since Sunday mumbling something.
I'm thinking it is his version of airplane!
