Date night and a new place

I love being able to sneak away for a few hours with Gary to have dinner.

We have been wanting to try this new place in Waco, and Friday nights are perfect for date nights.

 

 

We sat at the bar for a drink and then headed to a table for dinner.  The bar was the best part in my opinion.  The drinks and chips were the highlight of my night.

 

I got some sort of beef fajita tacos drizzled with queso and it was only OK.  I was not impressed.  I usually love Mexican food, but this wasn't my favorite.  I think this is a good spot for drinks and then head to another venue for dinner time!

 

Gary said his food was pretty tasty.  He ordered one of their signature dishes and I think he's on to something.  They spend special time and attention on some things and I think that makes them better!

I've heard so many good things about Hecho and then to be disappointed bums me out.  I think my expectations were high from all the hype.  I will go back, but I just wanted to be blown away!  Haha!

swim, swam, swum

We have been having some fun pool days.  The kids love to try to catch the football while jumping off the diving board.  Watch out for Hayden, he throws HARD!

Gary had three balls flying at him at once.  It's hard to see, but they're cruising his way.  The neighbor next door has become a fun friend and so he was in on the football fun!

Gary was showing off his diving skills and so I decided to try to dive also.  I haven't tried diving in years.  

I was laughing so hard when I saw these pictures Gary snapped of me while driving.  I look like I know what I'm doing. LOL!  I'm not even that great of a swimmer, but my dive isn't half bad. 

Layla has been a great swimmer for the past 2-3 years.  She's confident and splashes around and I don't worry about her too much.  Hayden on the other hand acted like he could barely swim the first few times he got in the pool this season.  Gary joined him in the pool one time and showed him a few things and now he's a wild man.  He jumps off the diving board like a pro and swims to the side of the pool with confidence.  He's doing great too.  I have two little fish that both love the water.

 It's crazy how my days at the pool have changed.  I may have to buy some magazines to browse through while I sit and watch the kids.  The pool does have life guards, but I still like to keep an eye on my little swimmers, so I'm not sure if I could actually try to read a book.  It's early in the summer and I'm excited about all our fun days to come!

weekend with friends

We are happy to have friends here for the weekend. 

 They are our second visitors since moving to GA! 

We found a fun new Mexican restaurant and they came to sing Happy Birthday to our friend Jarred.  It isn't even his birthday.  We couldn't stop laughing!!!  They must have gotten the wrong table, but it was good for a few laughs and a delicious dessert! 

We got a babysitter for the first time and had an adult only night out.  We went to several different places and had a fun time exploring our new area here in Georgia.  Gary and I are so happy to have so many fun restaurants nearby to show our friends!

we found 4 baby froggies!

This morning we found some baby frogs and the kids are loving them!

They are tiny and so cute!

We made them homes in insect cages.  We used rain water in medicine cups and we made a sandy floor.  The kids added sticks and rocks and their new homes were complete.

We'll only keep them for a few days to watch them.  It would be fun to keep them longer, but I have no idea how to raise frogs.  I think we'd hurt them more than we'd help them.  Hayden is a little rough with them at times.  It's been a fun day exploring the little creatures though.

a little Sunday bowling

Saturday night we had friends over to our house and we all decided to go bowling today.  

I can't even believe I'm gonna say thing, but it was so much fun!!  I seriously love bowling.  I haven't bowled a ton in my life, but when I have I've always had fun.  I need to join a league.  haha!  Just kidding!  I can't wait to go again!

I really think the kids had a great time.  We ordered pizza and it was the best pizza.  How does the bowling alley have the best pizza in town?  I'm not sure, but it was really good!!

We had a great weekend and we are ready for the busy week ahead.  This will the be the kids first  full week back to school since Christmas vacation.  I'm ready to be back in our regular routine!

Hayden's latest joy is rolling down a hill when we pick Layla up from school.

He rolls down and runs back up and rolls down again!

these are a few of my favorite things...

I love this polish for spring!  It is called Lacey Lilac, by Sally Hansen.

I am always looking for new shampoo and conditioner.  I like to switch brands because it seems like my hair changes so often.  Right now this Loreal 'Ever Pure' is a favorite.  It controls the frizz that has taken over my hair lately.  I also use the conditioner.  They both smell so good!

I feel like a commercial for all things Loreal.  I love Loreal.  I love that I can grab it at Target or Wal-Mart while I am shopping.  I love this pressed powder.  I'm not a big "foundation" wearer.  It just seems so thick and heavy to me.  Maybe I just enjoy skipping that step in the mornings.  I like to run a brush over this powder and brush it on my face and go!

I don't really need to say much about Burt's Bees. 

If you haven't used it you should buy a tube.  I use it every night and during the day too, when I don't have lip gloss on.  I LOVE it!!

I love this lotion.  I am all about smell, and this smells great and it is springy.

Is springy a word? Well if not it is now...I need springy in my life ;)

I love lip gloss. But my all time favorite lip gloss is Victoria's Secret.  The Java flavor is getting old, so I need to make a trip to get a spring/summer flavor or two.
