Summer is flying by!

I can't believe summer is almost over!  It's been great, but we need another month.  The kids got out of school the last week of May and they go back August 3rd!  I can't believe it.

Look at these two munchkins on the red carpet!  I love them to the moon and back!

goofing around in Lowe's

What?  You don't go to Lowe's and pose in the isles?  These two are my favorite!

weekly review in pictures

Monday

I love driving around town this time of year.  It's beautiful.

I am looking for a bench for our entryway in our house.  I decided to go to all the thrift stores and antique malls to see if I can find a cute older one I can redesign.  I didn't have any luck, but I sure had fun shopping.

Tuesday

I was busy Tuesday catching up on house cleaning and laundry.  While browsing Pinterest I saw this.  Don't we all browse n clean?  But WOW to this quote.  It's powerful to me.

Wednesday

Wednesday night I hosted "girls night in ~in our pj's."  We had fun playing games and eating homemade ranch dressing with anything we could dip in it.  I made brownies too.  They will be the death of me.  I love brownies.

Thursday

Thursday was a rainy day.  It rained all day long and into the evening so soccer practice was cancelled.  Hayden was happy because he wanted to stay home and color.  I have no idea what has come over him, but Layla loves his recent love for coloring.  She loves to color and always has!  So they colored right up until bed time.

Friday

Lily got bored and decided to eat the rug in our entryway.  I need a bench and a rug now.  I did a little searching for a rug, but I'm not really exactly sure what I want.  I'll keep looking.

Since I mentioned Lily...she is in the picture above.  She is mad at the squirrels who taunt her daily.  They know she won't run after them so they look her in the eyes and eat their walnuts all rude like.  Anyway, look at the yellow tree.  It's so pretty.

Ok, that sums up our week.  Our weekend will be filled with soccer both on Saturday and Sunday.

Independence Day 2013

Gary had to work on the Forth of July so the kids and I went exploring around town.

Layla picked out an outfit for tonight so we had to go get matching jewelry.
Oh the life of a 7 year old girl!

A Chic fil A trip is very necessary while shopping.  You know this!!

We stopped by Academy Sports and Outdoors because I miss it almost as much as Target!  We went to Target also, twice in two days.  haha!

The kids tried on hats and were giggling like crazy while I shopped!

The kids decided they needed to swim for an hour or so before dinner and fireworks.  It was raining, but our hotel has an indoor pool!

Layla wanted a photo of her festive swim suit!

We got dressed and took half a million pictures.  Half requested by me and half by Layla.  She's a little sassy diva lately.

After a yummy dinner, I ahhhem WE got a piece of cheesecake to split.  It was wonderful!

I love my little family!

We headed out to find the fireworks downtown, but we didn't think they would happen in the pouring rain.  We headed back to the hotel and on our way upstairs we saw a few pops of light!

This is an absolutely horrible picture, but if the kids are like me they will remember this memory for years to come.  We watched the fireworks from our hotel window.  It was so fun and we all had a great time and we were completely dry while all the other people were soaking wet!

We had a great day celebrating America!

Yogurt and shoes

The kids both had school today and I got some much needed alone time!  I had lunch with an old friend and it was amazing to spend time with her.  I miss my old work friends and I am so thankful I still get to see them every once in awhile.

When I picked the kids up from school they begged for frozen yogurt and I thought it sounded great!  We had the best little date!

Layla just loves her little bro...can you tell?

Cute heels huh??

After we ate our yogurt we decided to do a little shoe shopping.  Layla needed boots for our move to Ohio.  She picked out a really cute grey pair and also fell in love with a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of flats too.  She is just like me when it comes to making choices, but today she was all over what she wanted.  I took full advantage of her picking out her own stuff.  I'm so happy for her!  She also requested that we get her a pair of skinny jeans.  That SHOCKED me like whooaaa!  She was anti-skinny jeans for months.  She tried on a pair and loved them, so we got them.  She wanted a red pair of skinnies, but they didn't have her size.  I'm thinking I'll order them online for her.  She needs jeans and finally likes them, so I'm thinking I need to get her fixed up!

I can't believe how sassy she looks in this fedora.  I wouldn't let her get it, but I may have to go back and surprise her with it.  She looks precious!

She is very proud of her new cross-body bag.  She insisted she needs it for our upcoming move to Ohio.  "It will keep my things much more organized while we travel."

I had the best time shopping with the kids this afternoon.  It was a really pleasant afternoon and the kids were great.  Sometimes after school they are really tired and grouchy.  I was a little worried shopping may lead to a few fits, but they surprised me.

I think we are all relieved because Gary found us a HOUSE in OHIO!  Knowing we are moving soon has changed ALL of our attitudes.  We are so excited about it.  We are ready to start a new adventure in our new town.  We can't wait too see Gary more often.  Now ... if our house would sell.  We were going to live here in Texas until it sold, but it's just so hard to not be together as a family every day.  It seems like it took forever to find the perfect house for us in Ohio.  It was stressful.  I finally stopped stressing out about it and we found a house the next day.  Hopefully if I stop worrying about selling our house, it will sell.

Don't forget to bid on the silent auction goodies I posted!
