Backyard fun!!

We were so excited to set up the inflatable pool Memorial Day weekend. We had a blast cooking out, swimming and just being silly.

Layla jumped into the pool fully clothed while we were filling it. Harley surprised us and joined her.

Hugs!!
Kicking like crazy!
Learning to float.
Gone Fishin'

Layla loved playing with her water guns. Harley didn't seem to mind getting sprayed! She just sat there and let her continue to soak her!

8 weeks to go!

I can't believe that I only have 8 more weeks! I am getting so excited to meet Hayden. I am a little nervous about the coming weeks. The time is going to fly by. Tuesday I have a Dr's appointment and it is my last monthly appointment. I will go for check-ups every two weeks. I still have to register at the hospital....wow lots of chores to complete. Next week is my 32nd Birthday, and I will be celebrating all week because that is what I do for birthday's. I love to make a huge deal out of them. Then there is Father's day! Yippee, that is always fun. Gosh then the 4th of July...and then Layla will be turning 3 years old on the 11th of July...gotta get her party planned, which I haven't really even thought about....geeezz. Hayden is due July 21st~Will I make it that long? And now I am just rambling on freaking out. I already tackled painting Hayden's room. I need to get those pictures posted. So I guess you could say I am in the nesting phase....ready to get ready!

Mmmm Brownies...

My sweet tooth has kicked in!!! When I was pregnant with Layla I constantly craved sweets, but this time it happened later. I was looking for a recipe on Allrecipes and came across this brownie recipe. I had all the ingredients handy and boy was I glad....Yummmy :)

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Grease an 8x8 inch square pan.
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not overbake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.
I also recommend Blue Bell Ice Cream flavor Strawberry Cheesecake! It is out of this world delicious with chunks of strawberries, and a great cheesecake flavor...which just happens to be my favorite cake!

Happy Birthday Hudson!

Layla's little best buddy Hudson, also our nextdoor neighbor, turned 3 years old. We had a blast helping him celebrate!
The Birthday Boy!

Enjoying a juice box...it was a warm afternoon.

Happy Mother's Day

Before I was a Mommy:
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mommy:
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mommy:
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mommy:
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mommy:
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mommy:
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

Thank you God for the ultimate blessing.... Being a Mommy!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome mom's in the world!

Update on MeMaw

A week or so ago Yvonne was moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility. We were thrilled, but anxious. The stoke really effected her memory. She was physically getting better, but didn't know what was going on. She seems better!! She has a totally different personality....she is really laid-back. She just takes it all in, and slowly her memory is coming back. The doctors told us that as soon as the heart medication strengthened her heart her memory would improve. So far so good! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!! Hopefully she will get well enough to move back home. She loved her assisted living facility! She was so happy there, we just hope she is able to return soon!
