Baking Cookies

Sprinkling sugar on the peanutbutter cookies.

Yummy batter
What a silly face....they tasted good to me.

Third Trimester

I just began my 3rd trimester!!! At this time Hayden is approximatley 2 to 3 pounds and 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He will be plumping up quite a bit before July. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. He his getting to be a big boy! Here is a picture of the bedding we ordered. We have changed our minds a million times, and may change it again. I'm so excited to be getting ready for little Hayden Sipes!!

A week away

This past week flew by! The Sipes family went to Dallas to hang out with the Miller family. We arrived last Sunday evening and stayed until Friday. We had a very eventful week....busy busy. The mommys and kids just did the regular stuff, went to the park, did some shopping and just hung out. It was great to spend the week with my best friend, Jeannie! Thursday night the adults went out for a fun night at a yummy Mexican food restaurant called Gloria's. They have outstanding food and service. All four of us enjoyed every bite, and the weather was so great we dined on the patio.

Since starting his new job at America's PowerSports Gary has been driving 100 miles round trip from Haslet to Allen. He really enjoyed the 40 mile a day commute from Mark and Jeannie's house right up the road to Allen. We should move closer to Allen, but now is not such a good time. Hayden's arrival is in less than 12 weeks. OMG...I haven't really done much to get his nursery ready. We finally found some bedding we like, but I need to get started organizing. The crib is assembled, and his closet is cleaned out, but that is about it! Gary took a picture of my tummy yesterday after church....

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Boogies

Layla is feeling icky today. She keeps telling me she has allergies. She is mad about her "boogies," but won't blow her nose! The whole nose blowing thing is driving me crazy....she acts like she can't blow out her nose. I am just as frustrated as she is. She has been laying around all morning complaining about her nose. Uhmmm sounds like me complaining about my back. She came into the office earlier and wanted me to take a picture of her...so here it is boogies and all!

Update on MeMaw (Yvonne)

We were so happy after the heart testing last week. We were thankful that medication was going to fix Yvonne's weak heart. God had other plans for her. Sometime on last Friday she suffered a stroke. The doctor's seem optimistic, but it is hard for us to see her so different. The stroke effected her vision and swallowing. She (hopefully) should be able to re-learn to swallow with therapy. Therapists are working with her everyday. The vision is iffy...sometimes she can see great, and then other times she has to blink to see us clearly. She remembers us when we are with her, but sometimes forgets us when we leave the room. It has only been a few days so we are praying for whatever God has in his plan. She is 71 years old....survived a really bad car accident 3 years ago, she has broken each hip and had them fixed. We feel like she has made it though so much already....hopefully she can overcome this also. Gary and I just pray that she doesn't suffer, and right now she seems good, she isn't in pain, and she is in ICU getting the best care possible. We love you MeMaw!!!

Letter to a Cutie Patootie

Layla,
I can't believe that you are 2 1/2 years old. Time has flown by! You have grown into such a little lady. I am so happy that you have taken an interest in dresses, purses, night gowns, and anything to do with princesses! Of course you still love to rough and tumble with dad, but you change more every day. It was so cute when you found your jewlery box the other day and couldn't wait to arrange your rings, bracelets and necklaces.
Layla, your dad and I are so proud of you, and we love you more than you know.
Mommy and Daddy

Oh my aching back!

100 days to go!!! This pregnancy has been different in several ways. I am happy to say I haven't gained as much weight this time....so far only 7 pounds. When I was pregnant with Layla I was so hungry; I ate all the time. This time I'm just not so into food.

These back issues are wearing me out. My lower back just kills me. Morning, noon, or night. It isn't any particular time that is worse. It is predominately on my right side. I was hoping that at my last Dr's appointment Dr. Holmes would magically make it go away....nope! He just said rest and don't lift anything. He recommended a maternity belt to support my growing belly. Have any of you used one of these? The heating pad has become my new best friend. I found Layla lying on the the other day....she said her back was hurting...I guess I say that a lot!

Hayden is getting bigger everyday. He is so busy in my tummy, kicking and punching all the time. Despite the pain in my back I feel so blessed. I am happy to have such a wonderful husband (he has been vacuuming and cleaning for me) and loving daughter. She talks to Hayden and tickles him. She blessed him last night during her prayers...unpromted...she is a little sweetheart.

Pray for Yvonne

Wow, life has been wild and crazy for us the past week or so. I haven't had time to blog or check my email. We are sad to say that Gary's mom, Yvonne, had a heart attack last Thursday. She has been in ICU for a week, and finally yesterday she was stable enough to have a heart cath procedure. The procedure was successful and showed no blockages, just a weak heart. She will be on medication for months to strengthen her heart. We are happy about the results, but she has a long road ahead. She has developed pneumonia. Bless her heart! She is a strong woman and has overcome so many obsticles, we have faith she will recover! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!
