Playing in the dirt

My front flower bed has needed a little TLC.  I'm a thinker and I couldn't decide what to do with it, so it took me months to make a decision.  Layla was a big help with ideas!  We had so much fun digging in the dirt together.

We had tons of leftover landscape bricks laying around, so I decided to line the bed to give it a little more definition.  I thought about putting the mums in a semicircle, but Layla saw a fun way to place mums on pinterest.  It turned out fun!

I'm thinking I'll add more stuff and I still have to get pumpkins and put out my scarecrow for the fall season!  This is a pretty good start for a couple of dirt digging girls!

Little Plucker

The kids and I did a bit of gardening this morning.

It was more like me planting flowers and the kids spraying one another with the water hose.

Layla and Hayden accompanied me to The Home Depot to pick out perennials.  Hayden picked his favorite color yellow flowers. And Layla picked out pink daisies.  They had already bloomed and they were so pretty for Easter.

But if you look closely, there are no blooms.  Hhummm. I wonder why??

Someone picked them 2.5 seconds after I got them planted. I'll give you one guess who plucked them.

Gotta love him!
