they're all falling out!

Hayden lost another tooth at school today!  He was so excited when he ran home after getting off the bus.  Yay!  It took him forever to lose his first tooth and now they are all falling out!  It's a busy time for the tooth fairy!

And goodness gracious the Georgia spring has his forehead all broken out.  His eczema is out of control!

yay!

Hayden lost his tooth this morning while eating breakfast!

Finally!

He has been playing with that lose tooth for WEEKS!

He is thrilled and so happy it's finally out of his mouth.  He was so worried and scared of the unknown.  He thought it was going to hurt, but it didn't.

I was packing lunches while he and Layla were eating breakfast and all the sudden he screamed, "I lost it!  I lost it!  I thought my waffle was crunchy, but then I saw my tooth!"  Then he sprinted upstairs to show dad who was in the shower.

It was an exciting morning in our house indeed!!

soccer! soccer! soccer!

Today was Hayden's first soccer practice.  He has been looking forward to playing soccer for years, but Gary and I didn't want to start him until after he turned four.  He asked to play when we lived in Texas, but it just worked out better for us to start him here this spring once we moved.

The little guy was so excited.  I didn't even have to ask him to get ready for practice.  I looked up from helping Layla with homework and he already had on his shin guards and he was asking me for help finding his socks.  He put on his soccer cleats and then asked me to tie them.  He grabbed his ball and was ready to roll!

I wasn't sure how he would do at practice.  The attention span of a four year old isn't very long.  He really listened to his coach and seemed to understand what he was saying.  He followed directions very well, but sometimes he got a little side tracked.  All in all he seemed very focused.  Towards the end of practice he told me he didn't like the game they were playing.  I reminded him that practice was almost over and he ran back to the field and finished up.

And of course....

I was THAT mom....

My camera in my hands and I was clicking away.

I love taking pictures of my kiddos and I don't see me stopping anytime soon!

I guess he got hot because he took his jacket and hat off and headed back onto the field!

This is Hayden's serious face.  Tongue over to the side.  It cracks me UP!

After practice we jumped in the car fast to go get Layla from her dance class.  Hayden was jibber-jabbering all about practice and how he thought practice was okay and that his game on Saturday will be even better!

I wish I could explain how great it felt to be outside.  I was a bit cold towards the end of the practice, but I could see the sun setting.  GAhhhh!    I love to see the sun set.  I loved not seeing buildings all around me.  I loved the fresh air.  In the down-town-ish area we live we don't get to see all the wide open area like at the soccer fields.  It was awesome!  The weather is warmer and I am thankful, but I'm ready for higher temps and lots of outdoor activities. Being outside is awesome and I crave that fresh air.

Thursday nights are our crazy run around wild nights.  Both kids have activities and so they ate cheeseburgers from Wendy's for dinner. (I got the apple pecan chicken salad and it was great!)  Layla got a frosty!  She lost her 7th or 8th tooth at school yesterday.  If she were awake I'd ask her for sure.  I'm sure she will read this and let me know if it's 7 or 8!  She keeps me in line y'all!

the ball and the tooth fairy

If you follow me on Instagram you got an overload of weekend pictures.  We attended the Masquerade Ball in our town on Saturday night.  It was so much fun!  Gary got to finally meet tons of ladies I've hanging out with.  He also got to meet some of their husbands.  We had the best time!

I am so blessed to have moved to a fun town and met so many nice and genuine people.  I have said it before and I'll say it again, this place feels like Mayberry!

Before the ball we had dinner with 3 other couples.  My food was amazing.  I took a photo of it, but it just didn't do the Thai Shrimp Pasta justice, so you'll just have to take my word for it.  My food was so so good!

Wearing masks was so much fun.  It was a little rough walking around though.  I had a few cocktails and then I was walking around in a mask and I thought I was buzzed, but once I took the mast off I was good again.  haha!  The band played fun music and we danced and had a wonderful night on the town.

All the guys looked so handsome all dressed up in their suits and masks.

We had the best night and I'm so thankful to have a place to document our fun times!  These are memories I'll cherish forever!  (excuse the cheesiness)

Remember this post about Layla losing her teeth when Gary and I aren't around.   Well last night while we were out on the town, our dear sweet lady lost another tooth.  She was thrilled because this tooth has been driving her crazy.  It needed to come out!  The tooth fairy came through big for her.

This morning I really wanted a big breakfast after our late night out.  We loaded the kids up and went to a fun little breakfast place.  My food was so good and it hit the spot.  We ended up having a late breakfast so we skipped lunch and Gary grilled steaks for an early dinner. (He says he can't grill meat without having a beer and the ice on this beer was 100% picture worthy!)  We ended the day playing a little Wii golf and tennis and the kids went to bed early since they too had a late night with the babysitter last night.  Gary and I aren't to far behind them!

How was your weekend?

4th birthday recap

Hayden woke up on his birthday ready to eat a piece of cake!

I made a milk chocolate cake with cream cheese icing.
Hayden requested cake instead of cupcakes.  He asked for chocolate cake and white icing.

He couldn't wait for us to sing happy birthday to him.  He was awesome at blowing out his candles.

Then he just had to lick the icing from each candle!

Mmmmm!  The cake was good.  I am terrible at baking, but I am trying to get better.  I got so frustrated trying to ice the cake Tuesday night, but I finally managed to make it look presentable.  Hayden LOVED it and that is all that matters!

After cake he opened his presents.  Of course he got a monster truck.  It is the loudest creature ever.  It is called Monster Mutt.  He played with his new stuff and then we headed to lunch at Posada's Mexican restaurant.

I love my boys!

Hayden and Layla enjoyed the queso.  Layla had about 5 tortillas and Hayden ate ALL the steak fajita meat off the nachos they shared.

Bahhhh!  This picture is so funny.  He is chowing down a burrito he built himself.

After some rest time and a movie the birthday boy was begging to go to the pool.

The pool is so much fun now that Layla is a more confident swimmer.  Hayden has followed her lead.  He swims like a little fish with his arm floaties.  He loves them and we are enjoying seeing the kids have so much fun in the water.  Hayden and Layla both have fun jumping off their daddy into the water.

Layla's feet in the one picture above are of her perfecting her underwater handstand.  I loved doing hand stands and flips underwater when I was young.  Layla loves trying!

Hayden had the best day.  In this picture he is screaming "4 years old!!"

Tonight after our 4 year old was asleep his 7 year old big sister lost her 6th tooth!  She ran into the living room holding a tooth in her hand.  We were shocked and excited for her.  It was a fun way to end such a great day with our family.

Happy birthday to my little dude!!

a birthday party and a lost tooth

Saturday night we celebrated Luke!

Luke is our neighbor and he and Hayden share a birthday.  Luke is exactly one year older than Hayden.  He will turn 5 on Wednesday and Hayden will be 4 years old!

(Luke & DeeDee)

We had a fun night.  Layla never slowed down and was on the water slide non-stop.

Hayden did slide a few times, but a boy pushed him down the slide so he never got back on.  Grrrr.  I think he would have had fun, but that ruined it for him.

Layla met a new friend and they bonded over having the same swim suit.
Sweet girls!

Cake and ice cream!  YUM.

Silly little man was making me giggle.

After the sun went down the kids started dancing.
Hayden had a fun time showing off his moves!

Layla made the water slide look so fun, so I decided to slide too.  It was so so fun!
I felt like a kid and was convinced I got air-born.  There was a hump in the slide and it made me fly down super fast!

Sunday while running a few errands we saw a grass fire up close and personal.  I don't think I've ever seen a grass fire that close.  It was so scary.  We were stuck in traffic so I was able to snap a few pictures with my phone. Thankfully the fire was extinguished quickly.

Everything is so dry and this fire was just spreading so quickly.

Sunday night while I was watching the Bachelorette season finale Layla lost her 5th tooth.  We thought she was asleep and then suddenly she came out of her room saying she thought her tooth was super loose.  It WAS and she pulled it about 5 minutes later.

She is so cute and now when she speaks you can hear a slight whistle.  It is just about the cutest thing I've ever heard.  The tooth fairy did visit her and Hayden noticed her tooth was missing first thing this morning.

Happy Monday.
I hope you have an awesome week!
