Mother's Day 2020

I had an awesome Mother's Day!

I made buffalo chicken dip while drinking champagne.

We headed to friends house for a crab boil.  It is the first time we've all really hung out since quarantine.  It was so wonderful to see everyone.

I'm so thankful for a fun filled day.  I lvoed every second of my Mother's Day!

The kids ended the day with yummy smores!

We are blessed indeed.

Superbowl Sunday

Superbowl Sunday is just another reason to make yummy food and have a party!

We went Mexican themed this year.  Gary grilled some meat and Gary and I had Mexican bowls.  The kids did nachos and quesadillas.

We had a fun night and as always enjoyed the commercials. The halftime show is always a treat also!

soaking the itchies away

Hayden is enjoying a Sunday evening soak.  He's soaking away the rough patches of dry, red and flaky skin that makes him itchy every single day.

I think he may be my hero right now.  Every single day for the past year he has struggled with allergies.  Allergies for him don't cause him the sniffles or coughing.  His allergies come out through his skin.  It's a daily battle and Gary and I feel like someday all he will remember is us staying, "Stop scratching, put on some lotion."  He is amazing.  He takes it all in stride.  He knows his triggers, grass, trees and dust.  He asks to stay in a recess if the school lawn guys are mowing.  He's just such a good boy and not only do we pray for him every day, he prays for himself.  He is a prayer and he knows this is a season.  Eczema isn't forever.  It is a chapter in his life and he will outgrow it some day and until then we will fight and stay away from his triggers.

And baths are the plus!  After much fear, I talked him into a bath and he enjoys soothing in the water.  Finally!

Sunday is a great day to be outside!  We love driving around exploring. We decided to walk around the closest park.  There were tons of people at the park. Some even had their BBQ pits and picnics. I'm thinking a summer kickball party is in order at the park!

Happy Sunday Funday!

Sunday afternoon shenanigans

I asked Hayden to get the wagon from the garage to pick up sticks in the front yard.

Then the wagon looked so fun.  Lily couldn't handle herself.  She was barking and chasing the wagon as the kids took turns pulling each other and Daisy.  Poor Daisy.  She was mad to be in the wagon.  She's such a good sport!

There is never a dull moment in our house.

Goodness gracious these 4 are silly silly munchkins!

SuperBowl 2017

Oh my gosh, what a crazy game!!

SuperBowl Sunday is always a great reason to party.

We had a fun night with friends.  We ate good food, sat around the bonfire and had many laughs!

We ended up staying later than I thought we would because the game was a nail biter at the end.  I was rooting for Atlanta since we lived there once!  Booo, such a sad outcome, but a fun night with friends.

pumpkins and pecans

We did all things fall today.
We drove around this afternoon house hunting and then the kids were excited to get home to play with pumpkins.

Gary is the pumpkin carver in our family and he always does a wonderful job.  I'm thankful he does it because I don't think my carving skills are up to par.  I'm sure I would embarrass myself if I tried to carve a pumpkin.

Hayden was more than happy to stick his hands down into the pumpkins and clean it out.  Gross.  Layla dug down inside her pumpkin also, but Hayden actually had fun.  Layla had fun painting her pumpkins.  She looks forward to that every single year.

I had fun taking pictures of all our crafts and then I baked a cake.  I found this cake recipe on Pinterest.  It is called southern pecan praline cake with butter sauce.  It is seriously one of the best cakes I've ever made.  Just search Pinterest for the recipe because I can't take credit for it.  You'll love it though, it is so yummy!

It's such a great fall cake.  I wasn't sure if the kids would like it but they did.
We all loved it and it was a great end to our fun 'fall' Sunday!

we finally got on the boat!

It's no secret we have had tons of rain.  The lakes all near us are many many feet above normal water levels, so most docks and parks are closed for boating and camping and anything lake related.

We love Lake Whitney and our buddies put the boat in the water, so we joined them for an afternoon of fun.  I'll be honest with you, I was not thrilled to go.  I just knew all the people in the world would be on the lake on a holiday weekend.  I didn't want to have to see huge logs and debris from the flooding.  I was basically just a grump about going.  We did end up having fun.  It was a challenge getting to the boat on the water, but all in all we had a wonderful time in the sun.

The girls did a little tubing.

Gary and Jarred rode the Airchair.  It was windy and the water was choppy, so we had the must fun just sitting in the water floating around watching the kids jump from the boat.  My favorite thing!!

I'm thankful for no injuries.  I'm thankful for a fun day with good friends and I wish I hadn't been such a nervous Nelly, but heck I guess someone has to worry for everyone right?!?!
