You're never too old for a long flowing gown

I just love gowns.

I love gowns on little girls.

You can never have to many gowns right?!

They are so soft and flowy and they look precious on a little sassy girls.  I have taken so many pictures of Layla in all her gowns.

I hope my sassy little girl knows how much I love her.  She is pretty special and I know she has been through a lot this year with us moving across the country.  I think she has handled it well and maybe even better than me!

Curly Q

I shared the excitement Layla had about her curly hair after the spa birthday party she attended, but I don't think you fully understand just how much she loved her hair.  She begged and begged and begged me to curl her hair once the curls wore off.  She wouldn't let me wash her hair for two days after the party.  The girl is obsessed with curls!

I was in awe of Layla's curls too.  I honestly had no idea her hair could curl like that, and it lasted for three days!!  I have tried to curl her hair and I was just under the impression that it was to thick to hold curls.  Well, the stylist said Layla had amazing hair for curling and the pictures prove it.  The stylist told me I needed a new curling iron; a decent one that heats up hot.  She recommend a few brands and I decided to go ahead and make a trip to Sally's to get one.  I ended up purchasing a Helen of Troy curing iron.  I also got a waver and a new hair dryer.  I couldn't wait to get home to play and experiment.

Tuesday ended up being a snow day so I curled Layla's hair!  She loved it.  It was my first time so it took me about an hour to do her whole head.  I really need to work on parting her hair better.  I think once I learn how to separate it into small sections it will look better.  Layla was in heaven for about 3 hours and then her curls all fell out.  She was upset, but I told her we'd just have to get a better product to hold the curls.  If you have a good hairspray recommendation I'd love to know what works for you!

I am so happy Layla is finally excited about doing new things with her hair.  She is turning into the sweetest and sassiest little lady!  It is so fun!

getting into the season

Layla was so excited to wear her Christmas earrings to school.  She had her outfit perfectly planned out and was ready to go this morning.  She got a new coat and she planned to wear it with her blue skinny jeans because it would match better than her blue coat.  She thought the blues would clash!

I love the excitement in the kids eyes when they talk about Christmas.  We are counting down the days until Jesus' birthday.  The kids are excited about presents under the tree on Christmas morning, but we never lose sight of the real reason for the season.  I think we have a great balance of Santa and Jesus.

When I saw Hayden walk out the door to meet me after preschool my heart was so full.  He was so proud of his Rudolph 'get up.'  He is too cute and his little personality was so sweet.  He LOVES getting into this fun time of year.

I can't wait until we see Layla sing in her choir program.  Hayden is very excited about all the Christmas activities coming up too.  It is the most wonderful time of the year indeed!!!!

What's up Wednesday

Yesterday {Tuesday} was a really yucky day.  Hayden is such a mess right now.  I don't know if it is his allergies/cold, but it was such a bad day.  A bad day because he was defiant and unruly.  I could have said the sky is blue and he would have argued with me.  But today is a new day and I am thankful for that!  I sure do love my little boy, but this {3 year old} chapter of life gets to be a bit much.

Candy is the enemy. Anybody with me on this?  I love it when the kids are very eager to do their chores so they can be rewarded with Halloween candy, but I despise candy.  Halloween was really fun though. The munchkins can't stop talking about how much fun they had trick or treating.  The candy is going to somehow disappear from our house very soon. :)

I am loving this nail polish.  I found it at Walmart for $1.72.  It is gray with a touch of purple.  It is NYC Park Avenue!  This polish makes my fingers happy.

I am getting a tube in my ear on Thursday. How crazy is that?  I am getting a tube in my ear like all the two year old kids out there with ear infections. It is funny to me, but in all honesty I am miserable.  I have been dealing with this uncomfortable ear issue since JUNE!  Way too long.  Any positive thoughts or prayers you send my way would be greatly appreciated.  I am having the procedure done in the doctors office instead of in a surgery center.  I hope it isn't too painful.  I am kinda stressing myself out about it.  I'm quite sure the anticipation is worse than the procedure will be.  Hopefully when I walk out of there I will be so much better!

Our dogs ate our carved pumpkins.   The pumpkins were on the patio table in the backyard and somehow Bogey got them down and shredded them all over the backyard.  What.a.mess.  Daisy has thrown up so many times. Anyway, enough about that. Yuck!

I had a great first month selling Thirty-One.  I was so nervous hosting my first party, but everything turned out wonderful!  I think I did good for my first month.  I finally got over my nerves and hosted a second party!  The first party took up so much of my time.  I was thinking, "what in the world have I done. I will never have time for this." I realize now, the other parties will not be like the first one.  I 'get it' now and it will get much easier from here!  I'm excited about what the future holds for me and this new fun hobby I have.

Speaking of Thirty-One.  I posted the November special of the month above my blog posts.  This month when you purchase $31.00 in products you can get the $12.00 Littles Carry-All Caddy for $1.00!  What a great deal!!  If you click on the monthly special tab above it will take you right to my Thirty-One website. I think I will have tons of people ordering these little caddies for teacher gifts. They are just too cute!

We have been so busy lately I haven't been cooking fun stuff and I miss it!  I am hoping to cook up some good dinners in the next few days.

What's up with you on this Wednesday?

a few things I am loving today

My snowflake earrings

They make me feel so festive and Christmasy

(just had to get a close up for you)

Aren't they cute?!

I am loving these yummy cookies.  They are so stinkin' cute and fun.

I really want to make them, and I hope they turn out as cute as the picture!

I am on a huge Subway kick lately.  Have you had their breakfast sandwiches?  They are so good and fresh and low-fat!!  I get my sandwiches toasted.  Perfect on a cold day!!  I can't wait to go back.  We had Subway for breakfast yesterday and then we ate it again today for lunch.

I am loving our version of Elf on the Shelf.  We have an elf that moves all around the house daily.  It keeps an eye on the kids all day long. At night it reports back to Santa.  Layla loves to search for the elf every morning before school.  The kids are being such angels lately.  Maybe the elf is helping?!

What are some things you are loving today?

Night-time fashion

Layla loves to dress herself. Bedtime is no exception. I tried not to laugh out loud when I saw her come out of her room last night dressed in this attire. Whatever floats her boat!

Chicken Bock Bock!

When Layla was smaller she called chicken bock bock. Well, I have issues with chicken. I get so tired of it. I need new ways to cook it. I was even so weird about chicken I wouldn't eat it in a restaurant. I know...not normal.

Here is a super simple recipe I have shared with several of you. Since you liked it I thought I'd put it on the blog. If you have any send me some more yummy ideas.

Maybe Friday could be Fabulous Food Friday :) We could share recipes to cook for the next week, and give reviews?!?! Well anyway.

Crock pot Bock Bock

*3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
*1 packet of taco seasoning
*1 can of rotel...do not drain!

It doesn't get any easier that this:

Rub the chicken with taco seasoning, place coated chicken in crock pot. Sprinkle remaining seasoning packet in the pot. Pour the rotel on top! Put the lid on and wait for 4-5 hours....I check it...I'm just that way. You shouldn't open the lid...but anyway.

The chicken is so tender and usually falls apart. Since Gary's favorite food group is tortillas....we put it in a tortilla. Tostada shells are good too. I'm sure you could even use it for chicken spaghetti also. If you think of anymore ideas...do share.

I want some square plates like that picture above....I saw some at Ross the other day. LOVE me some Ross!! Although if you are in a hurry it is probably not the best place to go. Sometimes you really have to take the time to look. That is why I am really liking Walmart right now. I am all about a one stop shopping experience. With the two munchkins in tow it is hard to get them in and out of the car at a million places. I recently bought myself a dress and purse at Walmart. I found a fun scarf & jewelry to go with the dress. Layla has a cute visor, and several dresses from Walmart also. OK, so this blog entry just took a random turn...sorry:) Have a great weekend...try the bock bock recipe...you'll love it.
