our menu for the week

Last Monday I posted our menu for the week.  All-in-all we did great sticking to our meal plan. Friday and Saturday we flip flopped meals, but mostly we stuck to the plan. So...I decided to do it again this week.  I plan to post the Cheddar Chicken recipe I made for the first time last week.  It was a winner!!

~ Monday ~

Ranch Chicken, steamed zucchini, baked potatoes **new recipe

~ Tuesday ~

Tostadas {flat taco shell, slow cooker refried beans, low fat shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and salsa} These we always a huge it in our house, and since we are doing WW they are perfect!

~ Wednesday ~

Lemon Shrimp with whole wheat pasta and steamed broccoli
(we had this last week also, but my kids beg for shrimp...I can't deny them right?!)

~ Thursday ~

Slow cooked oriental Chicken with rice and broccoli

~ Friday ~

 eating dinner out.

What is on your menu this week?

Gary and I usually eat lunches together out if the kids are at school.  We enjoy having breakfast or lunch dates here and there.  We take the kids out to eat once a week or so.  This past weekend we had Subway for dinner on Friday night.  The kids were perfect angels, no fits or tantrums. The meal was pleasant until Hayden got choked on his sandwich and barfed all over the table and on me too.  Oh my word...I felt so sorry for him and I was scared to death.  My poor guy was so upset.  Layla was grossing out and people were staring. It was very eventful, but thankfully all ended well.

Saturday we grabbed Mexican food for lunch at our favorite spot.  It was horrible.  Gary found a chicken bone in is chicken burrito.  He almost gagged on it, and thankfully he didn't swallow it.  Our waiter was standing right behind him as he was spitting it out.  Uggh!  Then I took a bite of my taco and there was a long blonde hair in it.  I colored my hair very dark brown,so it wasn't my hair. I hate hair. I mean hate.  Needless to say we won't be going to our favorite spot for a while.  It was a crazy weekend of restaurant experiences.

Your tostadas sounds so good. What brand taco shells do you buy? I've never bought the flat ones before. Isn't it awesome when your kiddos throw up when you are eating out...that has happened to us more than once:)

Glad you liked the cheddar chicken! And gross to finding a hair AND a bone! Yuck! If I even see a hair, I immediatley lose my appetite and can't eat anymore. :(

I'm checking out some of your slow cooker recipes! I've got creamy garlic and mushroom chicken in the crock pot right now.

There is nothing worse than finding hair in your food. GROSS. We went to a swanky fondu place a few weeks ago and there was a hair on our steak, the waiter acted like there was no way it could be his even though it was red and curly, and he had tons of curly hair. So gross. I should have pitched a fit, but all they did was offer us more steak. Hmm...no thanks!

It definitely sounds like it wasn't a good eating out weekend....

I would really like to plan a weekly menu too! The Subway incident sounds terrible, I'm so sorry that happened!

This week we'll be eating sausage and eggs with croissants and probably cheddar broccoli rice but that's all I know so far!

My 4 yr old puked all over himself in my car after eating a french fry on Friday - so I hear you on the kid puke thing.

And a hair and a chicken bone? Man! Just wasn't your night out, was it?

Your menu sounds delish! I really need to start planning meals better! Tonight is chicken salad's, tomorrow is steak, Wednesday is turkey and stuffing - that is as far as I got!

I always set out to plan a weekly menu but never follow it through. I've got to be better about this! All of your meals sound yummy! WW is amazing and has great recipes. Just bought a book with tons of meals from Target. So far so good, they're all tasty!
